Not at all. Reiki Level 1 is open to everyone, regardless of your background or experience. You don't need to be intuitive, psychic, or have any previous knowledge of energy healing. All that's required is an open mind, an open heart, and a willingness to learn.

Through the Reiki attunement, your natural ability to channel this loving and intelligent universal life force energy is awakened. Reiki has been practiced around the world for over 100 years and is now offered in many hospitals, hospices, cancer centres, and integrative healthcare settings as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medicine. It is widely recognized for its ability to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, support emotional well-being, and help activate the body's natural healing response.

Over the past several decades, Reiki has been the subject of hundreds of research studies. While more large-scale research is still needed, many studies have demonstrated positive effects on stress, anxiety, pain, quality of life, and overall well-being. Reiki has also shown an excellent safety profile and is considered a safe complementary therapy when used alongside appropriate medical care.

From my own experience working with thousands of clients over the years, Reiki is so much more than a relaxation technique. It is an intelligent, loving universal life force that knows exactly where to go and what is needed. Rather than forcing change, Reiki gently restores balance by supporting the body's innate wisdom and the soul's natural unfolding. Every session is unique because Reiki meets each person exactly where they are, often working in ways that are far beyond our conscious understanding.

Over the years, I have witnessed profound physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual transformations through Reiki. I have seen people release years of emotional weight, reconnect with forgotten parts of themselves, receive deep intuitive insights, and experience a level of peace they hadn't felt in years. While every experience is different and no specific outcome can ever be promised, one thing has remained consistent throughout my journey: Reiki always seems to know exactly what is needed in that moment.

Our trainings honour both the science and the sacred. Rooted in the traditional Usui/Tibetan lineage, you'll learn the history, philosophy, and practical application of Reiki while developing the intuition, confidence, and energetic awareness to become a clear channel for this beautiful universal life force. My intention isn't simply to teach techniques, but to help you develop a lifelong relationship with Reiki—one built on trust, integrity, humility, and the understanding that we are not the healers. We simply learn to step aside and allow this loving intelligence to flow through us for the highest good of all.

Upon successfully completing each training, you will receive a Reiki certificate in the traditional Usui/Tibetan lineage recognizing your completion of that level. Each certification reflects the teachings, attunements, and practical experience you have received throughout the course.

As you progress through the levels, your training and certification expand alongside your ability to channel Reiki with greater confidence and clarity. After completing Reiki Level 2, you will be qualified to begin offering Reiki professionally if you choose, while the Reiki Master Teacher certification prepares you to perform attunements and teach all levels of Reiki within the Usui/Tibetan tradition.

More importantly than the certificate itself, my intention is that you leave each training feeling confident in your understanding of Reiki, supported in your continued growth, and equipped with the knowledge and experience to practice with integrity and compassion.

No. Each Reiki level is complete in itself and offers its own unique teachings, attunements, and opportunities for growth. Every Reiki attunement strengthens your connection to Reiki and expands your capacity to channel universal life force energy, allowing it to flow more fully and naturally through you. As your connection deepens, so too does your understanding, confidence, intuition, and ability to work with the energy.

Some students feel complete after Reiki Level 1, using Reiki as a powerful tool for personal healing, self-care, and supporting family and friends. Others continue to Level 2 to begin working with clients and sharing Reiki professionally, while some feel called to continue all the way to Reiki Master Teacher. There is no right or wrong path.

Reiki has a beautiful way of guiding each of us exactly where we need to be. I encourage every student to move at a pace that feels right for them, allowing time to integrate each attunement and develop a strong relationship with Reiki before moving to the next level. Whether you take one level or all four, you'll receive the same level of guidance, mentorship, and ongoing support throughout your journey.

Reiki Levels 1, 2, and 3 (ART) are each taught as immersive one-day trainings from approximately 9:00 AM to 5:00–6:00 PM, depending on the flow of the day and the questions that arise. The Reiki Master Teacher training is held over four consecutive Sundays to allow for deeper learning, practice, and integration.

There is also intentional integration time between each level. Every Reiki attunement expands your capacity to channel universal life force energy, and allowing time between trainings gives your mind, body, and energy field the opportunity to integrate these changes naturally. This creates a stronger foundation before moving on to the next level while giving you time to practice, build confidence, and deepen your relationship with Reiki.

Your Reiki journey doesn't end when the training is complete. You'll become part of the New Earth Healing Center Reiki community, where you'll continue to receive guidance, mentorship, and support as your practice grows.

You'll have lifetime access to Shawn for questions, ongoing mentorship, our private online Reiki community, exclusive learning videos, and opportunities to continue learning alongside other Reiki practitioners. After completing Reiki Level 2, you'll also have the opportunity to share your gifts within the New Earth Healing Center community by participating in our Ceremonial Reiki & Sound Journey events and other healing offerings, allowing you to gain valuable hands-on experience while continuing to deepen your confidence, intuition, and connection with Reiki.
