Guided by Shawn Durocher — 2025's Best in Kelowna Silver Winner — this Reiki training offers a powerful path through all four levels. You will learn the foundations of Reiki, understand the energy system including the chakras and aura, and develop energetic awareness, hygiene, and protection tools.
As you progress, you will work with sacred symbols, distance healing, and healing across time, while deepening your intuition and learning advanced energy reading and clearing techniques. At the Master level, you will step into advanced practices and receive the tools to initiate others into Reiki.
Whether for personal transformation or professional practice, you will be supported with grounded guidance and time-honoured wisdom — empowering you to embody Reiki as a path of healing and transformation, with ongoing support within the New Earth Healing Center community.
Level 1 — Shoden
The foundation of Reiki. Learn the history, principles, and hand positions of Reiki healing. Understand the chakra system, the aura, and develop your energetic awareness, hygiene, and protection tools.

Deepen your practice with sacred Reiki symbols, distance healing, and healing across time. Develop your intuition and learn advanced energy reading and clearing techniques.

Step into the advanced practices of Reiki. Deepen your connection to universal life force energy, expand your healing abilities, and prepare for the path of Reiki mastery.

Common Questions About Reiki Training
Do I need any prior experience to take Reiki Level 1?
Absolutely not. Reiki Level 1 is open to complete beginners. No prior healing or spiritual experience is required — only an open heart and a willingness to learn. Reiki is a natural ability that can be awakened in anyone.
Is Reiki a legitimate healing modality?
Reiki is practised in hospitals, wellness centres, and healing practices around the world. It is a respected complementary therapy that supports relaxation, stress reduction, and energetic balance. Our training follows the traditional Usui-Tibetan lineage, providing you with a thorough, grounded, and credible certification.
What certification will I receive?
Upon completing each level, you will receive a formal certificate of completion. These certifications are recognized within the Reiki community and allow you to practise and (at higher levels) teach Reiki professionally.
Do I have to complete all four levels?
No. Each level stands on its own and is valuable in its own right. Many students take Level 1 for personal healing and self-care, while others continue through to Level 4 to build a professional healing practice. You move at your own pace.
How long does each training take?
Each level is typically taught as a one or two day intensive. This allows for deep immersion, attunements, hands-on practice, and integration — without requiring a long-term weekly commitment. Check the schedule above for specific upcoming dates.
What support do I receive after training?
You become part of the New Earth Healing Center community. Shawn is committed to supporting your growth beyond the classroom — through ongoing guidance, community connection, and the opportunity to participate in Ceremonial Reiki events as you deepen your practice.
